Listen to this!

For those of you have been wondering, here are some MP3 examples of what I've been toying with musically in the past coupla years. The following tunes were results of my experiences with the...

LABJE (Los Angeles Breakbeat Jazz Ensemble)

the musical cast:

Malcolm Penton-Vocals;   Professor, Theodore S. Bell (aka Ted) - Flute;  Jonathan Hennessey Bell (aka Jon) - Bass;    Edward Rudolph Helm (aka Rudy) - Guitars, Arrangements, Engineer, and DAW Software Wizardry.

TAKE IT ALL      This original is instrumental only...and is a very long, but satisfying journey. But, if you're feeling kinda wimpy today, or otherwise prefer tunes with vocals, then you had better skip this one.

BOJANGLZ         This one contains a killer vocal track and expansive instrumental explorations (your life will simply not be the same after you hear this version of Mr. Bojangles).

RAINBOW            Finally, another one where the vocal track will mess you up (if not the instrumental explorations). If you are a big fan of "The Wizard of Oz", it is sure to piss you off...so don't you dare click here!

These expressions are an experiment with jazz textures superimposed on breakbeat rhythms. If you like musical fusion, you might like these. If you are into Satchmo (Louis Armstrong), Tom Waits (Sling Blade, anyone?), Jazz Funk, Harvey Mandell, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Prog Rock, Neo-classical Rock, Jethro Tull, Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, or even New Age music..well, if your tastes vary that greatly, then you are in for a treat!

Enjoy!
