Our Recording Philosophy…

To preserve recordings of tunes composed by our favorite jazz artists and pop songwriters, as well as tunes by our own pen.

Our intention is to put a fresh 'smooth jazz' spin (whatever that means) to otherwise 'classic' and 'pop' literature. Usually, the approach is to apply an 'upgrade' (or modernize) the rhythmic construct of an older or conventional style.

While we have yet to unleash all our original offerings onto the public, we do have one such offering on our first CD, called 'Slow Easy Pace'. It is the title-song to the album, which of course, bears the same name.  (....more)

We're playing Grover Washington, Herbie Hancock, Jobim, Santana -- all the greats! Our contact info can be found here.

No wonder this band's vocalist was invited to perform with Tower of Power in Lake Tahoe, Nevada!  We're talking about that quality sultry singing voice of Mr. Cliff Lopes.  He also plays drums for our groovin' rhythm section -- the Smooth Jazz Ensemble's drum and bass make up a rhythm section that locks up to tight, infectious, feel-good groves. -- fun!

This very hot section includes the smooth jazz progressions of keyboardist, Tom Wider, a veteran of the San Jose Jazz Festival and Harrah's Club in Reno. This biologist-turned-pianist proves to be one formidable jazz cat!

And then there's some sexy smooth tones from that sleepy sax blown by Jonathan Whitney. The sound from this sax man bears witness of the influences of Stan Getz, Paul Desmond, as well as traces of Miles Davis, Herb Albert, and Astrud Gilberto.

Here are some things that other people are saying.

For more info on each of the ensemble members, simply look to the images in the left margin and click on their friendly faces.    :)

So steal a couple of minutes and review our info and listen to our samples.  You'll be glad you did.
