Jonathan Whitney - Saxophones

Mr. Whitney, originally from the Los Angeles area, has been playing and performing in New York City and California since 1980. Born into a musical family, Jonathan was steeped in the sounds of Stan Getz, Sergio Mendez, Paul Desmond, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Nancy Wilson, Herb Alpert, and Astrud Gilberto. Jonathan began studying the saxophone at age 10.

Since settling in Fresno, CA Jonathan has performed and recorded with Barry McGuire and Terry Talbot on the Frost and Fire musical dance production, CD and Video. Jonathan has played extensively, and recorded with Mark Royce Productions on a gospel interactive CD titled "Look at the Love". In 2000 he recorded his CD, "A Night of Smooth Jazz", produced by Mojo Productions in Clovis, CA.

Jonathan holds two California teaching credentials and currently teaches in Fresno, CA. He has taught saxophone privately. Jonathan resides in Coarsegold, CA where he enjoys playing his sax for private and public engagements. Jonathan uses Selmer Saxophones, and a Yamaha WX5 Wind Controller.
